CogSci Majors:
Though no one informed me, as of Fall 2005 NO CREDIT will be given
for MCB 64 if you have already taken MCB 61 and vice versa. If you
enroll in the second course you will see study list units, but they
won't add to your overall units. This problem came to light as a
student graduating in Spring 2006 was told he may have to take
another class to complete his degree. He ended up with 119.8 units
so when you're told that you have to have 120 units minimum, it's
very serious business. I've written a letter for him explaining the
problem but they still may not waive the fraction of a unit.
-- cog sci mailing list which I'm still on
.2 units? L&S is so beauracratic...and inflexible. I wouldn't be surprised.

i actually thought there were supposed to be pretty lenient about meeting the graduation unit requirement, though it still seems pretty easy to me to get over it (with loads of ap credit of course). i think you can even get the extra credits fulfilled at a community college so the student is only out like $50 and some time
